Ipads are becoming more and more common every day and for some reason, every toddler wants to get their hands on one. While this fascination is really quite inexplicable, it can however be used by parents to their own advantage. The iOS platform brings several apps that include games, which allow learning for preschoolers. So the next time your child wants to play candy crush or waste their time on some other game, give them the following apps so that they actually learn something;
1. Preschool edukidsroom by Cubic Frog; the app is one of the more popular ones on the apple platform. It boasts of 2500,000 users. With quite an extensive list of features, it continues to make fans among parents and toddlers alike. The app teaches kids through puzzles and animations and parents especially praise the option to vary skill levels, which further improves the app’s functionality. Some features like matching number, clock puzzle and sorting through colors are only available with the paid version.
2. Barnyard Jigsaw Learning by Ulli Martin; a paid app comes with an extensive list of features that come without any restrictions. Costing 2 dollars, it boast of HD graphics and teaches kids about logic, shapes, colors, motor skill and concentration with six to sixteen puzzles for each skill.
3. Animatch; a relatively cheap app priced at one dollar only, it does not have an extensive feature list but its distinguishing quality is its simplicity. The app focuses on memory and concentration skill and so it focuses on those skills only. It consists of simple puzzles, which require you to match boxes containing similar animals. A ‘must-have’ app for all those who want to avoid complicated games and the raucous jingles with color effects.
4. Alpha tots; another simplistic app, which focuses on teaching its users only about alphabets. It consists of various assistive features such as voice assistance. For three dollars, it is an excellent choice especially given the fact that it is an award-winning app.
5. Elmo loves 123s; this app focuses solely on teaching kids about numbers. It is priced at five dollars and the reason for this relatively high price is that it includes help from the kids’ favorite sesame street characters. Kids go crazy about elmo and you will probably never see your child learn so eagerly about numbers.
6. Preschool arcade; this is one of the more distinguished apps available on the iOS platform and the reason for this is that it broke out of the ‘puzzle-games’ bubble. This is one of the very few apps that do not rely on puzzles to teach kids about numbers. Instead, it takes old school arcade games and makes them a great, joyous learning experience for the kids.
7. Jumpstart Preschool Magic of Learning; at merely two dollars, this app does appear to be a bargain. It will teach your child about numbers, colours and shapes as well as develop their memorization skills. The best thing about such a comprehensive app is that it will keep the child busy for a long time, allowing you to focus on that bag of laundry you haven’t been able to get your hands on.
While all these apps are great for learning, make sure that you spend some time with your child because no app in the world can replace the parental love only you can provide.
